Frances-Marie Uitti is a cellist who uses a two-bow-right-hand-technique which produces some crazy sounds and chordal-playing that wouldn’t otherwise be possible on the cello! Check her out here performing with composer Yota Morimoto on a collaborative piece entitled acamar
Okkyung Lee is another cellist whose music I find very exciting, check out these cool solos.
Also wanted to post some pieces from Oberlin alums David Bird and Dylan Messina and one of Oberlin’s TIMARA professors Peter Swendson. I’m particularly fond of these composers, check out their awesome cello compositions here!
